What is Vintage Clothing?

Vintage clothing is clothing that helps our customers partner with 8 Days a Week to take mutual responsibility to extend the life of products that have been previously been worn and 8 Days a Week reconditions and customers purchase. The program provides significant resources for responsible care, repair, reuse, and resale. The environmental footprint of the clothing industry is a well documented. Estimates are that 1 lb. of fabric produces 27 lbs. of greenhouse gas.  A single Tshirt requires 702 gallons of water to produce.  By reusing clothing, our customers in partnership with us are helping to reduce the environmental impact of the clothing industry.

A good overview of the environmental impact of the clothing industry can be found here.

What condition are Vintage Clothing Items?

All Vintage Clothing orders are processed and inspected by 8 Days a Week. Items purchased from us have met our exacting standards and have been reconditioned, washed and cleaned appropriately.  Our clothing does show signs of wear and sometimes will have small holes in them.  The general condition of our clothing is shown in the photographs that we have on our website.

What is the best way to apply a patch at home?

If you decide to purchase a patch separately instead of buying our clothing preconfigured with a patch, you will take responsibility for the quality of applying the patch. A good video on how to use an iron at home to put a patch on can be found at this link.
