8 Days a Week believes in radical financial transparency. We want you to know how we spend the money we receive from our customers and how much we were able to contribute to not-for-profit legal defense funds.
Because we sell products, we cannot be a non-profit. However, our intent as a Benefit Company is to ensure our long-term operational health while optimizing our contributions to the causes that our customers care wish to support. As a Benefit Company that is also an S Corporation, the Internal Revenue Service limits the total of all charitable contributions to 50 percent of an S corporation’s adjusted gross income, with some variations in specific cases. The 50-percent deduction limit applies to the charitable organizations that we intend to support.
It is our goal to push our contributions to the 50% limitation. However, this will be adjusted based upon our need for operating capital, our projected sales, and other costs that are deemed critical to the organization's long-term health and viability.
